Why
Does Parlec’s Vise Have More Clamping Pressure?
We discovered that the majority of our
customers are exceeding the 80 ft-lbs of torque
recommended by most manufacturers under normal
working conditions. With this in mind, Parlec
designed our vise with a larger lead screw that
is capable of withstanding higher torque loads
and results in an increase in clamping pressure
under load.
What
Makes Parlec’s Stationary Jaw More Rigid?
LARGER SCREWS – Parlec uses larger
screws to fix the stationary jaw to the body of
the vise. This provides up to 30 percent less
deflection than competitors’ models.
Do
You Have Any Promotions On This Vise?
Parlec’s vise is already priced up
to 20 percent less than our competitors’
models. We are offering the highest quality vise
at a significant cost savings compared to the
competition.
I’m
Concerned About Vises Imported From Other Countries
That May Not Meet the Quality Standards of U.S.
Made Vises, How Does Parlec Address This Concern?
Parlec has spent a great deal of time working
with our manufacturing partners to ensure the
vises that we are producing today exceed the quality
of our U.S. competition. The following features
are found on our vises that are not offered on
other “cheap” imports:
 |
 |
Powder
coated paint resists flaking and peeling –
imports use lacquer paints that begin to flake
off within the first couple months of use. |
 |
 |
80,000
PSI ductile iron body with increased nickel
content for ultimate corrosion resistance
– imports use the least expensive, low
quality irons that will generally rust within
the first couple months of use. |
 |
 |
Stationary
jaw with alignment groove for decreased setup
times – not offered on any other import
in the industry. |
 |
 |
Matched
distance from the keyway to the stationary
jaw – many imports claim that they offer
this feature but buyer beware! The stationary
jaw plate that they offer is different from
industry standards and when this jaw is replaced
with a U.S. brand jaw plates the distance
back to the keyway are no longer identical
to U.S. standards. |
 |
 |
Outside
rails of the vise are machined. |
These are just some of the
features that set our product apart from the other,
less quality imports that have flooded the market.
If you truly want a quality vise that will last
for years to come then a PWS-6900 is the vise for
you!
What
if I Want A “Made In The USA” Vise?
Things are not always what they seem. Vises on
the market today that are labeled “Made In The
USA” often have components being made in Asia.
Manufacturing a certain percentage of the vice in the
U.S. allows a company to mark “Made In the USA”
on its products.
What
Is Anglock® Design All About?
This refers to the connection between the vise
slide and the moving carrier jaw that prevents the moving
jaw from lifting during clamping. This feature was developed
over 25 years ago and exists in just about every vise
on the market today – including all Parlec vises.
Manufacturers list Anglock® as a feature of the
vise because this connection is so important in the
clamping process.
