GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB.

Creation of CNC programs for manufacturing departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors, managers, and all other employees.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all ISO 9001 procedures and requirements of the Engineering and Programming functions. This includes active participation in the internal and external audits when necessary.
  • Write programs to produce parts on our CNC equipment.
  • Modify programs as required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and to act promptly and efficiently in resolving the problems.
  • Continuously improve on cycle time reductions and parts quality.
  • Create tool setup sheets as required.
  • Maintain revision level control on all documents.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent and an A.A.S. degree from two-year college or technical school in a manufacturing related field; or six months to one year programming/CNC machining experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have Mastercam or Featurcam experience.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
