CNC Programmer

General Purpose of Job

Create, maintain, update and modify CNC programs for manufacturing departments utilizing MasterCam and FeatureCam software programs. Programs will support mills, lathes, and mill turn type equipment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers, supervisors, managers, and all other employees.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining all ISO 9001 procedures and requirements of the Engineering and Programming functions. This includes active participation in the internal and external audits when necessary.
  • Write programs to produce parts on our CNC equipment in either or both FeatureCam or MasterCam.
  • Must work well in team environment and be proactive.
  • Must meet or exceed project and program due dates as set forth via syteline, project managers and daily requirements. Will be required to multitask across multiple activities and projects while maintaining a quality product and ensure end dates are met.
  • Modify programs as required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and to act promptly and efficiently in resolving the problems.
  • Continuously improve on cycle time reductions and parts quality.
  • Create and maintain tool setup sheets and In-process sheets as required each individual job.
  • Maintain revision level control on all documents.

  • Education and/or Experience

    High School Diploma or equivalent and an A.A.S. degree from two-year college or technical school in a manufacturing related field; or six months to one year programming/CNC machining experience with FeatureCam and MasterCam and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of GD&T.


    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.


    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
