Parlec Production Series Vises – The Only Vise For Serious Production Work!
Why Parlec?
Parlec has specifically designed our vise to meet the grueling demands of the production environment. Other vise manufacturers design their products to accommodate both prototype type work and production requirements. By focusing the design requirements solely on the production environment, Parlec has created a vise that will outlast and outperform the competition.
Maintenance
Parlec’s production series vises are enclosed by design to prevent chips and debris from getting into the internal drive mechanism and causing premature failure of the system. This design also reduces the amount of coolant entering the system and allows our customer to spend more time manufacturing and less time cleaning our vises.
Composite Design
Parlec’s production series vises are constructed from aluminum and steel giving you all of the benefits of an iron system without the weight. An example of a typical 6” iron tombstone can weigh up 650 lbs. versus the Parlec system at 300 lbs. This results in less wear on your machine tool and also is safer for the operator when setting up these units.
Reliability
Although our vises are made of aluminum and steel we have engineered them to outperform our cast iron competitors. By utilizing hard coat anodizing and nickel plating on all of our components we have greatly increased the strength of the raw materials. Rigidity
Parlec’s tombstones are designed with a one-piece casting that has an integrated base plate and column. By using this design we have reduced deflection on our units by over 50 percent when compared to two piece designs. It is the connection between the base plate and the column on two piece designs that causes the majority of the deflection in a tombstone.
Parlec’s laydown vises utilize a box style design with a precision steel coverplate that is bolted to the top to provide maximum rigidity without the weight of an iron system.
Third Hand Mechanism
The offset dial located on the outside of every vise allows the operator to clamp the first workpiece into the vise and then use both hands to load the second station. It also allows the operator to adjust the system to allow for clamping and unclamping of both stations in less than one turn of the handle.
Quick-Change Jaws
All of Parlec’s production series vises utilize our quick change jaw system that allows an operator to change out a set of jaws in seconds without any special tools, pins or screws. Our unique slide design utilizes a rotating pressure pin to ensure maximum pull down force on the moving jaws during the clamping process.
Safety
All of Parlec’s vises are designed to load rear-to-front or bottom-to-top to both ensure that your operators never have to reach over a sharp workpiece, and make sure that a workpiece cannot fall on the operators while loading a second station. Very few vises in the industry utilize this technique to ensure safety.
Location Holes
Parlec’s laydown vises include four steel bushings, through the body mounting holes, and side rails for quick and accurate mounting of your vise. Our tombstone vises include a locator bushing and ground coverplates for easy setup as well.
Hydraulic Conversion
Parlec’s 100mm & 150mm vises can be converted from manual to hydraulic systems in the field by simply changing the internal slide mechanism.
