SUMMARY
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers related to receiving, stocking, issuing, and shipping materials by performing the duties below. Also has operational and financial responsibility for inventory as it relates to accuracy within the Parlec Fairport factory. Candidates must have a strong commitment to maintaining a high performing team which delivers high customer satisfaction (internal and external). In addition is responsible for leading efforts in lean manufacturing as it relates to inventory control within the factory environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manages personnel and activities as it relates to the movement of all material through the factory.
- Is responsible for inventory accuracy results by way of cycle counting, streamlining and simplifying inventory movements and their system transactions, as well as analyzing and reporting on variances.
- Plans layout of all logistical areas within the facility.
- Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported excess, slow moving and obsolete stock.
- Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with current and newly established procedures.
- Leads and assists in the development and execution of lean manufacturing processes such as JIT, Kanban or other advanced supply chain initiatives.
- Is responsible for domestic and international traffic activities: both in the development of systems as well as the day to day management.
- Develops and manages a robust cycle count process.
- Develops and manages activities related to import/export activities for the international business.
- Manages all activity related to order fulfillment for the international customers, collaborates with several internal departments to facilitate shipment/delivery and collection for international orders.
- Manages and negotiates with carriers and freight forwarders.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or equivalent; minimum two years experience utilizing formal MRP system and inventory control/cycle count experience. Warehouse experience. Must have experience with import/export compliance. Active APICS membership is desired. Minimum two years Supervisory and team leader skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent as well as understand how inventory affects company financial statements.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
