Parlec Introduces the Parsetter TMM Series 1500 Tool Presetter

FAIRPORT, N.Y. Parlec Inc., a worldwide leader in tooling, workholding and presetting solutions, today announced the introduction of its new Parsetter TMM Series 1500 Tool Presetter. The Parsetter Series 1500 Tool Presetter combines aged ductile iron with Symmetry design methodology to create one of the most thermally stable, consistently accurate presetters available today. It will be introduced this Fall at the IMTS at Booth E-2804.

The Parsetter 1500 Series is a bench-top machine that makes presetting, measuring and inspecting tools simple and easy. The 1500 offers mechanical positioning and repeatability of one micron or better. An NSK guide system, user-trammable column, Heidenhain sub-micron encoders, and match-ground, high-precision roller bearing spindle ensure the precise performance of the product. Complete presetting systems start at under $10,000 USD.

The Series 1500 measuring envelop can be configured to handle tools up to a 420mm maximum diameter and 600mm maximum length. Ergonomic, one-hand positioning allows the tool edge to come quickly into view, while the dynamic crosshairs automatically find and track the cutting edge. Flexible configuration of axial orientation and measurement values allow the Series 1500 system to be used for both turning and milling applications on one vertical presetter platform.

Other Series 1500 options include a touch screen operator interface, a fine adjust and pneumatic braking system, a high resolution LED array for tool surface inspection, centering optics for adjustment of turning tools, tool data management, communications, and an almost limitless inventory of spindle, length adjustment and tool adapter options. The Series 1500 can be applied as an entry-level presetting system or as a powerful and flexible component of an integrated tool management and quality system.
