Parlec, Inc. and Mahr GmbH Announce Partnership

Hannover, Germany, September 17, 2007 – Parlec, Inc. headquartered in Fairport, New York and Mahr GmbH headquartered in Göttingen, Germany today announced a bilateral partnership agreement to market and sell each company’s tool measurement and inspection products. Products covered under the agreement are Parlec’s P1500 and P2500 Presetters and Mahr’s MarVision Tool Inspector lines. Mahr will market and sell these goods in Europe under the name MarPreset. In turn, Parlec will incorporate Mahr tool measurement products into its product portfolio and market them in North America. In addition, the companies will cooperate on future technology development to expand each of their respective product offerings.

The arrangement expands Parlec’s presence in Europe and other parts of the world for its presetting, tool inspection and tool management products.

It extends Mahr’s reputation for laboratory-grade optical metrology equipment to include solutions that meet customer needs in production inspection and manufacturing measuring environments.

The shared product lines are expected to lead to additional collaborative efforts including co-branded products and technology-sharing initiatives. Mahr and Parlec have agreed to share technologies for the continued technical advancement of both companies’; current product lines, as well as for the development of entirely new solutions in tool and component measurement.

Working together with Mahr, we can offer a comprehensive approach to tool measurement technology across a wide spectrum of applications and markets.”

This means the customer has the advantage of dealing with one single supplier for both groups of equipment.”

Parlec, Inc. will market and sell the Mahr products within the U.S. and Mahr GmbH will market and sell the Parlec products within Europe and other specified markets around the world. All Parlec presetters sold by Mahr GmbH will carry the MarPreset brand name. Parlec’s industry leading Parlevision™ software will maintain its brand in all Mahr branded presetters sold worldwide.

In North America, Mahr will sell its products under the Parlec and Mahr brand names or, in some cases, as co-branded products. This agreement will not affect agreements that Parlec, Inc. and Parlec Limited have with existing distributors. All Parlec presetters sold by Parlec will continue to carry the Parlec brand name.
