Parlec Introduces New 8” Toolroom Series Vise

Rochester, NY, March 30, 2009 – Parlec, Inc., a worldwide leader in tooling, workholding, and presetting solutions, announced the official launch of its new 8” toolroom vise. The PWS-8110 is the latest addition to Parlec’s Workholding line following the success of Parlec’s 6” toolroom vise.

“Our new PWS-8110 exceeds the current industry standard with regards to size opening and clamping force,” said, Mark Wiktorski, Product Manager of Workholding, at Parlec, Inc. “It is a cost-effective product that is cross-compatible with other similar models. For shops that are currently using 8” vises, this product is a great lower cost replacement or addition with better performance.”

The PWS-8110 has an impressive 11” opening and its body is made of 80,000 psi ductile iron. With a larger lead screw design, the PWS-8110 can handle higher torque loads and transmit clamping forces up to 12,000lbs. The lead screw is supported by a sealed bearing system that increases bearing life. The vise is repeatable within .001” and has a matched bed height size of 3.310 +/- .0005”. The footprint and distance from the keyway to stationary jaw meets industry standard and it comes with a four bolt design on the stationary jaw that reduces deflection by 25%. Each vise includes a handle, hardened jaw set, steel chip cover and a Limited Life Time Warranty.
