Parlec Introduces New Small Diameter Boring System

Rochester, NY, March 30, 2009 – Parlec, Inc., a worldwide leader in tooling, workholding, and presetting solutions, announced the official launch of its new small diameter boring system. The enhanced tooling package, which is replacing Parlec’s original small diameter boring system, offers users increased accuracy and efficiency. The product is also being offered in both inch and metric graduations.

“Our new high-precision, small diameter system is competitive with the most advanced boring products on the market today,” said, Dave Hartman, Product Manager of Rotating Tooling, at Parlec, Inc. “It is a cost-effective system that allows users to bore an extensive-range of exacting diameters quickly, repeatedly and with ease.”

Parlec’s reduced weight, coolant-through, boring system allows for vibration-free, high-velocity precision hole making up to speeds of 15,000 RPM. It bores diameters ranging from .078” to 1.890” (2mm-48mm) and can be adjusted up to .0001” (.003mm) on diameter. A bored through receiver allows the tool to be telescoped for maximum rigidity under the most demanding cutting conditions and setting errors are eliminated because there is no movement between lock and unlock positions. All boring bars and noses are coolant-through and are balanced by design.

The system has been kitted and includes Parlec’s reengineered, balanceable, small diameter boring head and a variety of noses, bars, reduction bushings and wrenches. All of the modular components are packaged in a sleek and durable carrying case along with a comprehensive balancing guide.
