CNC Mill Turn Operator

2nd Shift Position (3:30pm-12:00am)


General Purpose of Job

Set up and make world class parts efficiently to print. Must be dependable, a team player. Intermediate to advanced blueprint reading with GD&T. Must have good tooling and machining background.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to run/set up multi-axis Mill turn CNC machines (Mazak & Nakamura preferrable.)

  • Program, set-up and run parts to print with little guidancerap.

  • Program and set-up short runs with one or no scrap.

  • Help create and improve processes, procedures and job folders.

  • Use in-process inspection sheets. Inspect own work.

  • Assist in basic supervision of other operators in the absence of Group/Team Leader.

  • Make major program changes.

  • Keep area neat and clean.


    • Education and/or Experience

    High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of five years machining experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Loading and unloading of parts, moving of racks, etc. Lifting fixtures.
