Shipping/Receiving Clerk

General Purpose of Job

Insure that all incoming packages are swiftly and accurately received then processed, and/or that all outgoing shipments are swiftly, accurately and appropriately packaged and shipped against sales orders on time.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive all production and non production material, route according to instructions and complete system transactions.
  • MUST have international shipping experience.
  • Stock material and issue material as appropriate and complete system transactions.
  • Pick material, package and prepare shipments to customer orders.
  • Provide cycle count support as directed.
  • Perform lean manufacturing activities as directed.
  • Operate forklift and pallet jack as required.

  • Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years receiving/shipping/expediting or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Logistics experience dealing with small parcel, LTL, and International logistics carriers.
  • Experience in International Customs paperwork procedures and Inco terms.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good Computer skills particularly in MS Office.

  • Mathematical Skills

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.


    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
